Welcome

Picture
Thank you for visiting, I'm glad you are here.

This website is an introductory platform for my work and interests, showcasing some of my pursuits, projects, and insights.
At present, I work as a researcher and educator at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands.

I investigate how medieval people defined what it means to be human in relation to other animals and machines. Additionally, I consider what these premodern ideas, attitudes, and practices can mean for us today as we continuously contest and renegotiate our identity and responsibilities within a complicated world of increasing human-nonhuman entanglements.

A colourful dragon with a horned, furry red head and blue wings with rows of white, gold, red, brown, and blue feathers. The rest of its body is serpentine, with two paws. It stands on a mound of dirt, its head raised defiantly at the sky.
