Teaching Assistantship

Theme: Cultural History (LGX258B10)
Undergraduate course, BA 2, University of Groningen (NL).
I supported the course coordinator with the organisation and administration of online/hybrid lectures, Q&A sessions, and I assisted in the preparation and examination of the course's exam and resit.
2014 - 2015

Academic Mentorship

Bachelorpraeses of the Flemish Historical Society (VGK Ghent)
Undergraduate students, BA 1-3, Faculty of Arts and Philosophy, University of Ghent (BE)
As liaison between History students and the faculty, I was responsible for announcing the Society's activities and supporting History students who encountered questions, conflicts, or problems during their studies, for instance by mediating with academic staff, advising students, and finding a personal 'godparent' (someone more advanced in their History studies) for every freshman student. In addition, I was involved in organising the orientation day for prospective Bachelor students, the annual introduction weekend, study workshops, and other activities geared at helping freshman BA students of History find their footing in the study programme.
2012 - 2013

Teaching

History Teacher for a Day
Secondary school History module, Year 1, Sint-Godelieve-Instituut Lennik (BE).
As volunteer History teacher, I prepared a lesson plan about Ancient Egyptian culture and taught this to several different classes of students. These activities took place within the Zuiddag 'Work For Change' (now: YOUCA Action Day) scheme. As a result, all proceeds from my volunteer work went towards a project aimed at providing children from Caracas (VE) access to sustainable education.
